Wonder Woman Cake

It really should be called, the impossible cake. For some reason, my fondant decided to hate me the weekend I was making this.

I make my own marshmallow fondant not only because it is much more inexpensive than the store bought kind, but also because I think it tastes quite good [as long as it's not heavily colored]. Anyway, I had to make both the red and blue batches twice because the first time around they were just not working out. It was the weirdest thing, they were super sticky but dry at the same time. When I put it over the cake it just crumbled on me. Who knows, it was weird!

I had some mishaps along the way but over all it wasn't the hardest thing to do and I was very pleased with the end result. It's mostly a compilation of all the WW cakes you can find on Flickr.

The top tier is a chocolate and vanilla marble cake with cream cheese frosting and the bottom is a lemon cake with raspberry cream cheese frosting. The cake was for my friend's mom's birthday, and from what she told me it was a total hit. At the end of the day, that's what makes it worth it :)

PS: The lovely people at Geek Crafts did a post on my cake, check it out!
